Bringing together young choristers in October 2000, from Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish (OMPHP) in Aplaya, Bauan, Batangas, The Youth Ensemble (YE) was founded in the spirit of service and an aim to build Christ-like character among diverse youthful personalities. As these youngsters fused in unison, YE becomes a-life-with-Christ-in-a-language-called-music personified.

YE’s core values of Fidelity, Integrity, Service and Humility (F.I.S.H) substantiate their pursuit to form and to serve vis-à-vis its aim to hone individual musical skills that catalyzed their lives as servants of the Church. Through the incessant guidance of their founder and musical director Mr. Aurelio ‘Bobet’ Manalo Jr. and the assistance of their instrumentalist, Mr. Ryan Marasigan, The Youth Ensemble concocted a beautiful musical relationship with God as its center.

Strengthened with time, YE also garnered several accolades in the field of local choral competitions for the past few years. YE was a finalist at the prestigious Himig Pasko sponsored by the Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) in 2010 and 2008 held at the Aliw Theater, Metro Manila. They also received an honorable mention in the recurrent Harana sa Panginoon sponsored by the Archdiocese of Lipa in 2008 and 2002. The group was also one of the featured artists at Paco Park Presents last December 2008.

As part of service beyond singing, YE presented several benefit concerts in April and November 2009 entitled @His Service to help build their church; and Just Sing concert in 2003 in support of the parish’ Kabataang Lingkod ng Inang Simbahan (KALIS). YE also participated in the Archdiocese of Lipa’s 100th Year Celebration in 2010 and during the Harana sa Panginoon Festival in 2006 and 2004.

In its continuous journey to encompass the youth with the values of F.I.S.H, YE exercises its social and community responsibilities by partaking in several activities of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) and other outreach activities. YE also extends their hands to kids from the primary school. And consequently, a choral group under the name of Kids Voices was formed to emanate the values of YE.

As such, YE continues to grow and embrace learning through sharing serenades of life and embodying Christ-like service. This is their calling that they continue to realize…a legacy worth passing on…the only journey akin to THE YOUTH ENSEMBLE…
